Rarity is a character from the My Little Pony toy line and related media. Introduced as part of the franchise's third generation in 2006, she was originally a young unicorn chosen to be one of the Rainbow Princesses. In the series My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Rarity is a fashion designer and seamstress at her own dressmaking shop, the Carousel Boutique. She is Sweetie Belle's older sister and the love interest of Spike. Rarity takes great interest in fashion and clothing design, and often tries to make herself the center of attention. She considers herself a proper lady, often acting in a sophisticated manner, and can also be dramatic and histrionic. She represents the element of generosity.
Appearances in Halloween productions[]
Rarity was set to appear in the show's first Halloween episode "Luna Eclipsed" making a Nightmare Night costume suggestion for Princess Luna, but her scene was cut for time. Some storyboard sketches showed her being Derpy Hooves' partner in the Apple Bobbing game, but was replaced by Golden Harvest in the final cut.
Rarity eventually appeared in the show's second and final Halloween episode "Scare Master" where she and the rest of the Main Six helped Fluttershy celebrate Nightmare Night for the first time.
